Carrie was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania surrounded by the beautiful Amish traditions of quilting and craft. She’s the modern incarnation of her family’s many generations of seamstresses, quilters and needlecrafters. Quilting especially is a way for Carrie to connect her present experiences and inspirations to pay homage these generations past. Surrounded by doers and makers, Carrie began crafting and designing at a very young age. For 8 years she has been sharing her love for art and all sorts of making by teaching at art colleges, on the internet, or in shops around the North East. Formally trained as a fine artist, Carrie received her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and her BS in Photography from Drexel University. She most recently worked for 20x200 | Jen Bekman Projects, but now spends her time in the studio she shares with designer boyfriend Tim Lahan.
